Snake venom and it's contents:

Snake venom is a highly modified saliva containing zootoxins that facilitate the immobilization and digestion of prey, and defense against threats.



Venom contain more than 20 different compounds, mostly proteins and polypeptides.
The pharmacological effects of snake venoms are classified into three main types, hemotoxic, neurotoxic, and cytotoxic.

Contents of snake venom:


Snake venoms are complex mixtures of enzymes and proteins of various sizes, amines, lipids, nucleosides, and carbohydrates. 
Venom also contains various metal ions that are presumed to act as co-factors and include sodium, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and zinc.
